Dove Chocolate By: Julia Murray 2024 I do not long for food these days, Though I feel hungry. I feel the desire for comfort, Though it feels impossible to be comforted these days. My world has fallen apart, Nothing matters because you’re not here. Like I said before, I’m not hungry these days, I only crave to have you once again by my side. Although my appetite is gone, There is one thing I long for besides you, Dove Chocolate. How kind of the chocolate to take me in it’s warm embrace, A hug that takes me to a better place with song. How generous of the chocolate to provide me with comfort, Even if it is only temporary. One milky bite I take, A creamy coat it lays over my mouth, I am overtaken with the delicious taste of chocolate. As the Dove Chocolate appears to be gone. The smooth texture stays, One more minute of solitude. And then without any warning, It’s gone, It’s over. Just like that I am stripped away from the world of song, I return to reality.
